The Oakley PSU is a dual output tracking power supply design that is perfectly suited to powering a larger sized Oakley modular. The standard design allows +/-15V at up to 800mA to be generated safely. It is designed to work with our Dizzy power distribution board. Up to two Dizzy boards may be fitted directly to the PCB, but more Dizzy boards can be connected in a daisy-chain fashion.
If you need a cheaper and simpler solution for a smaller Oakley modular system then please have a look at our Compact PSU.
The Oakley PSU features quiet and very well regulated outputs. It is also short circuit protected and current limited. It is garanteed not to latch up on power up.
The unit is designed to be used with a centre-tapped linelump (mains adapter) like the Yamaha PA-20. We are able to supply UK versions of these supplies. Oakley Sound can only endorse using this module with a low voltage input for safety reasons. However, if you have the knowledge and experience you could use this module with a internally mounted mains transformer.
It is recommended that you download and read the User Guide before purchasing this PCB.
The PCB is 140 x 81 mm. It is a double layer board with solder mask both sides and through hole plating

Power Supply Rack
If you have the skills you may wish to build the power supply module into a self contained power supply rack case like the example shown below:
The power supply board inside a direct mains powered unit in a 2U 19" rack case for fitting to a rack mounted modular system. Note the Dizzy board mounted to the rear panel. This rack case also provides a 4x4 Multiple and an additional balanced audio output circuit. Neither of these is required by the power supply circuit itself.

Metalwork
A Schaeffer front panel can be made for a MOTM compatible 3U wide 'Master' module. The database for the module can be found be clicking here. To read these files you will need a copy of 'Frontplatten designer' from Schaeffer. The program also features on-line ordering, so its now even easier to buy your panels from Scheaffer.
The company are based in Berlin in Germany and will send out panels to anywhere in the world. Delivery to the UK normally takes around ten days. For North American users you can also order your Schaeffer panels from Front Panel Express.
